Pharmacy in Poland: 3 Programs, 1 Confirmed

This guide is shorter on prices than most of ours, and the reason is the finding.

Gdansk is the one you can plan around. It publishes PLN 20,850 per semester, PLN 41,700 for the academic year, which converts to about EUR 9,812. Applications open 18 March 2026 and close 31 July 2026 — a four-and-a-half month window and one of the more generous in European pharmacy.

Across five years that is roughly EUR 49,060 in tuition. Adding modeled living costs in Gdansk of about EUR 8,950 a year, a first year comes to about EUR 18,762.

Note that Gdansk prices in zloty, not euro. If you borrow in dollars or euros, the exchange rate sits between you and the largest line in your budget for five years. We cover that exposure in what currency is your tuition priced in.

The Medical University of Warsaw's English Pharmacy Division publishes an unusually detailed fee structure, and it is worth reading even though we cannot confirm it for 2026-27.

That is the steepest published escalation in our pharmacy data: year three costs 84 percent more than year one. A EUR 5,700 headline is genuinely misleading about a course the university itself totals at EUR 46,000.

It is also labelled as the 2025-26 schedule, and the program page does not publish current dates — the faculty states them in a separate admission schedule. So this is a real published structure from the previous cycle, not a current commitment, and we do not carry it forward as a confirmed 2026-27 fee.

The pattern is worth recognizing on its own terms. Programs that advertise a low first-year figure and charge more later are common enough that we track them in your fee changes between years. Warsaw is the clearest example in pharmacy.

What to do: ask the English Pharmacy Division for the 2026-27 schedule in full — all five years, not year one — and for the current admission dates. Both exist; they are just not on the program page.

Warsaw does publish its academic requirements clearly: a secondary-school qualification with Biology at higher or advanced level, plus Chemistry at higher or advanced level, plus Mathematics or Physics. That is a three-subject science requirement, stricter than most.

The Medical University of Silesia's Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences in Sosnowiec appears in our catalog with a 5.5-year English pharmacy program. Its current 2026-27 English intake and tuition materials do not list Pharmacy.

That is not the same as saying the program has closed. It means the university's published English-language admissions materials for this cycle do not include it, so there is no fee, no deadline and no confirmed route to point you at.

Silesia does publish requirements: a high-school diploma, and where an entrance examination is required, Biology or Chemistry as mandatory subjects plus one of Biology, Chemistry, Physics or Mathematics, with English at B2 or better. So the academic expectations are documented even though the intake is not.

If Sosnowiec interests you, contact the faculty directly and ask whether the English-language Pharmacy program is running for 2026-27. Do not assume from the requirements page that it is. Sosnowiec also models as the cheapest of the three Polish cities to live in, at about EUR 7,950 a year, so it would be worth the email if the answer is yes.

This is the honest shape of Polish pharmacy right now: one program you can price and apply to, one with a lapsed schedule and no published dates, and one that is not in the current intake list.

Poland is an EU member state, so a Polish pharmacy qualification carries the automatic EU and EEA recognition route between member states. All three programs are five years or longer, which clears the US duration screen that the four-year British MPharm does not — the structural point set out in the five-year rule.

The language condition is firm here. Gdansk states that Polish is required for patient-facing placements and Polish registration; Warsaw and Silesia both state Polish is required for patient-facing practical training. Note Gdansk's wording in particular: it names registration as well as placements, so the language is not only about your degree but about working in Poland afterward.

For North America, Polish degrees sit where all European degrees sit: the FPGEC route in the United States and the PEBC route in Canada run their own evaluation of any foreign pharmacy qualification regardless of origin. Our pharmacy licensing guide covers those.

So the practical advice: treat Poland as one confirmed pharmacy option rather than three. Gdansk at about EUR 9,812 a year is a solid, well-documented EU program with a long application window. The other two may well be excellent and may well be running — but neither publishes what you would need to decide, and choosing a five-year degree on a lapsed schedule or an unlisted intake is not a decision, it is a hope.
