The whole rubric, published

The program publishes its selection formula in full: the diploma is worth 20%, the CV 25%, English 30% and the interview 30% — 105 points in total — and the top 50 applicants with a score above 80 out of 105 are selected. Required documents include passport or ID and the diploma.

Three separate things are disclosed there, and each is rare on its own. The weighting tells you what to invest in. The threshold of 80/105 tells you the standard. The cohort size of 50 tells you how many places are actually contested. Almost nothing else in this catalog gives you all three before you pay an application fee.

The weighting also has an unexpected shape. English and the interview are worth 30% each — 60% of the total between them — while the school diploma is worth only 20%. This is not a program that ranks on academic transcript. An applicant with modest grades and excellent English who interviews well is genuinely competitive here in a way they would not be at a university selecting on a biology and chemistry exam.

Who may apply

Applicants must be foreign nationals, must have completed the final two years of high school abroad, and must hold a diploma granting access to higher education. English is required at B2, with TOEFL iBT 79 given as the published example.

That eligibility rule is the same one Thessaloniki applies, and it is a condition on who may apply at all rather than a scoring factor. Greek nationals and applicants who finished school in Greece are outside the English-program intake regardless of how well they would score on the rubric.

€12,000, and a deadline that moved

€12,000 per academic year, confirmed for 2026/27, with a €100 application fee. Twenty-six of the 118 medicine programs on this site with a confirmed fee cost less, against a European median of €17,863.

The published 2026 deadline is 30 June 2026 at 23:59 CET, and the official page states this was an extension. Interviews are scheduled after document review. An extended deadline is worth treating carefully: it tells you the date can move, which is a reason to check the live page rather than a reason to relax.

Greece prices its English medicine flatly — Patras, Thessaloniki and Thessaly all charge €12,000, with Athens the outlier at €17,000 — so within Greece the fee decides nothing and the selection route decides everything. Patras scores you on a rubric, Thessaly sets a written science exam, and Thessaloniki runs a 60-question assessment across two application cycles. Those three reward completely different applicants at an identical price.

Greek-language competence is expected for clinical patient communication. The degree runs six years to an integrated medical qualification.
