You cannot apply as an international student in 2026

The official course page states: information on international entry will be provided in future years, and this will not be available in 2026. Our record notes that position was checked on 2026-07-30.

That is the most important line on this page and it is worth stating before anything else. This is a new program — the first intake is September 2026 — and the international route has not opened yet. Applications currently run through the CAO, whose 2026 cycle opened in November 2025 with a normal deadline of 1 February 2026.

Cattolica in Rome is the other page in this profile set where the door is shut for the current cycle, but its next window is already dated. Here there is no published date at all, only an intention to provide information in future years. Treat SETU as something to watch rather than something to plan around, and ask the university directly when international entry is expected to open.

Five years, which is the part that matters

The award is a five-year MPharm from the Waterford campus. That duration is the structural difference between Irish and UK pharmacy for anyone aiming at the United States.

This catalog records that a five-year integrated Irish MPharm meets the stated duration threshold on its face, while an individual education and licensure review still applies. Against that, it records that a four-year UK MPharm does not meet the stated post-2003 five-year minimum on duration alone, and so does not by itself support the FPGEC route to US registration. All nineteen single-programme UK MPharm pages on this site run four years; both Irish programs here run five.

For Canada the two are closer: the Pharmacy Examining Board of Canada is recorded as saying Republic of Ireland graduates may qualify for its streamlined pathway after Document Evaluation, and eligible UK graduates likewise after Document Evaluation.

So if the United States is the destination, the Irish five-year structure is the reason to be interested in this page despite everything unresolved about it. If Canada is the destination, the UK options are open now and this one is not.

No published fee either

Our record is explicit: official numeric tuition is not published yet, and no price is shown because the audit did not find a public official tuition amount. The fee position was checked for 2026/27.

This site therefore publishes no figure for SETU rather than estimating from Atlantic Technological University's €12,000 or from the Dublin and Cork programs at €21,230 to €25,000. A new program at a new campus has no reason to match any of them.

The published requirements are a recognised secondary qualification meeting the university's science, mathematics and English requirements, a CAO or international application, official academic records, and programme suitability and health checks. English is the professional and placement language.
