Medical Schools in Europe Without an Entrance Exam (2026-2027)

It does not mean easy admission. It means the university ranks applicants on submitted evidence — secondary-school results (especially biology and chemistry), English proof, and legalized documents — sometimes with an interview, instead of a single competitive written test.

For a student with strong school grades who tests poorly, that is a meaningful advantage. For a student with weak grades, an exam-based route may actually be easier, because a good exam score can outweigh a mediocre transcript. Romania has the deepest choice in this group, with file-based selection across most of its faculties for both medicine and dentistry.

A second group admits on academic file plus an interview rather than a written exam — notably Greece (Aristotle, Patras, Thessaly, Athens) and Cyprus (University of Nicosia, European University Cyprus). These reward applicants who present well and can explain their motivation, and they are worth considering if you interview better than you test.

Every programme in this group still requires: a completed secondary education with strong science subjects; English evidence (IELTS/TOEFL, or a letter confirming English-medium schooling at many schools); and apostilled or legalized documents, which take weeks to obtain — start early.

Track every published date on the deadline board, and confirm the exact current admission method on each university's official page. Admission style is the single most likely thing to change between cycles.

Admission route has no bearing on licensing.
